Summer Art Camp at Home

Our studio has been moving at light speed since mid-March, when we transitioned 98% of what we do in the studio to Art at Home. Some might say I am always moving at light speed. It’s in the springtime we push our marketing for our Summer Art Camps; this spring, we didn’t. As I wondered what summer would bring, I knew we wouldn’t be running camp in the studio when summer started. I also had no idea the experience we created for children while staying safe at home would sell out and then some!

The past seven summers have shown us that camp enrollment ramps up while class enrollment dwindles. Summer camp enrollment helps offset the dip in class enrollment and braces us for…soccer season, the time we lose many a student to this sport (insert laughing/crying emoji). We prepare for this. Never did we prepare for camp during a pandemic. We have lost over half our planned season income, and the future is full of unknowns. Your support for Art Camp at Home has helped keep us afloat, and for that I am forever grateful!

We are taking a mid-summer pause with all-things-camp this week—pretty much unheard of in the studio—and then again, times are strange. Last week I broke my toe, and if that wasn’t the Universe telling me to slow down, I don’t know what was. We have three weeks left of Art Camp at Home, and they will be spectacular!

Next week we dive into Miniature Art Camp at Home and will have the same great smorgasbord of art making that makes what we do extra special. We’re pulling out all the stops for these last weeks with some very cool projects. Think little landscapes, wittle weavings, pint sized pots, petite prints, and mini messages in a bottle. Following our Miniature Art adventures we will have one week of Animal Art and then one week of Ocean/Forest/Desert Art.

Perhaps the most magical part of this experience was the reminder from you signing your camper up week after week (as well as registering for classes, taking a workshop and booking a party). We are on to something really good.

If you’d like to register for a week of camp, head here.
